I painted this original Positano oil painting following my recent journey along the Amalfi Coast, but this time I wanted to strip away the details and capture its pure essence. Even after visiting countless times, the view still mesmerizes me—inspiring me to translate the iconic golden church dome and the breathtaking azure of the Mediterranean sea into a more abstract, emotional form.

Using a palette knife and my signature heavy impasto technique, I applied energetic, sculptural layers of paint to focus on pure color and light rather than crisp lines. The luminous blues and rich golden textures make this textured church dome a bold, modern interpretation of Positano, bringing a vibrant slice of the Italian coastline into your home.
