I painted this original ocean waves oil painting inspired by the raw power of a stormy sea crashing violently against rugged coastal rocks. Standing along the shore, I was completely captivated by the impetuous force of the churning water and the white sea foam exploding against the cliffside. I wanted to translate this wild, dramatic energy and motion straight onto the canvas with real emotion.

Hand-painted using a spatulated palette knife and my signature heavy impasto technique, I sculpted thick, dimensional layers of oil paint to give physical texture to the cresting waves and sharp rocks.
