Bring this Venice Grand Canal original oil painting on canvas into your home, hand-painted in horizontal format in my Tuscan studio using heavy impasto and a palette knife to capture the breathtaking sunset light glowing over the Venetian lagoon. I sculpted dense, tactile layers of artist-grade oil paint across the canvas, contrasting radiant coral, warm apricot, and delicate pink clouds with the majestic silhouette of Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute reflected upon the deep blue and turquoise waters. The expressive three-dimensional relief catches and interacts dynamically with changing natural light throughout the day, bringing the timeless romance, architectural elegance, and vibrant atmosphere of Venice directly into your interior space.
